Married and Navigating Jewish Life

Blogging about marriage and relationships

Like I ranted last year, when you go upstate or send your kids there….

It’s that time of year again.

Jews migrate to the country, we take over the roads, we push aside the goyim that live there all year round, and usually no one watches their children enough to ensure that they do not do anything stupid. And when we say stupid, we are talking about doing actions that mind end up with using Plan B from an emergency room or pharmacy.

Just remember, we are still in golus, please be kind to the natives there. Also make sure your children are properly watched no matter the age – they need to know there are boundaries when many times there are none at the hangouts up there.

Have a terrific summer to those who go. We’ll be happy that Ave J is half dead 🙂

  1. You forgot to mention Parking spots!

Parking spots are known to emerge from hibernation in the city this time of year. They have an odd migration pattern, only showing themselves for 8-10 weeks a year, so you might as well enjoy them!

They are beautiful to gaze at and seem even more attractive when you take one for yourself. But remember to treat yours with care as they will disappear overnight after the summer and you will be left with nothing more than memories as you circle the neighborhood searching for even a glimpse of one.

  2. That is very true. We should do what Park Slope is doing is ban people from parking on certain blocks unless they are residents. People might actually remember to use mass transit or use their feet
