Dominating the catwalk called Brooklyn’s streets

with one comment

Ah summer.

Yes, we do call the streets over here a catwalk.

The yentas get out of the house meeting with their fellow yentas. They dress up like they want to make men have an instant heart attack at the sight of them. They bring an air of hautiness that we experienced first hand from a very well known Bais Yakkov School Principal who was exceptionally rude and of course completely normal for a higher than thou group of elitists.

Yeah we bitch and we complain about Brooklyn and we don’t make it a secret that we aren’t sure we’ll stay in the NYC area. G-d Forbid that we have our children grow up with having to deal with the idiocy of the Yeshivish World inside the closed box that we call the NYC Area. But why do we even bitch and complain?

Because we do hope that maybe, just maybe someone will sit and think and not be the proverbial idiot and wonder what the frell is going on here. We don’t mind if you wish to go, as a religious Jew, to wear a speedo or a bikini to walk down the street of Avenue J…however there is the following issue that we have.

Don’t, for the love of G-d, state that you are better than anyone, that you have the right to condemn others, the right to push others away, the right to be elitist, the right to be a typical Yeshivish biatch or bastard when you cannot follow what your Rabbis say to do. There is no Rav in the Yeshivish world that allow over two inches of hair to be shown, or a skirt to be above the knee, or that you can see your colored underwear through your white skirt, or that you can try and hit on a married man pushing his child down the street.

You want to be religious, fine. You want to do what you want, fine…because we do. But don’t think you are better than anyone else.

A Jew is a Jew. Don’t forget it. No one is better than the rest. You’ll find that out when you stand before the Judgement of Hashem after iyh 120 years and you realize that you aren’t any more special than the Soul ahead of you or behind you.

So, do you know how to say Good Shabbas

leave a comment »

Frum Satire has a good article about the different ways people say Good Shabbas.

Only one we thought should be on there but isn’t is the one when ‘you say Good Shabbas, the other person doesn’t respond, and you turn around and tell them ‘Oh sorry, my mistake thought you were Jewish’ and continue walking.

How do the schools do it?

with 2 comments

We truly wonder this.

We have several friends who teach in Jewish Schools (English Department)

Now some of them do it because they have no wish to go to college, others are in the middle of doing so, and even some more of them do it because they want to teach and they at least get some money.

Now these women have to endure the following every school year

1) Beg for a raise
2) Realize that by the time they can make more than $25,000 where they work they will more than likely be over 35 years old.
3) Not get paid more than Rabbis who teach Hebrew Subjects
4) Deal with Bosses who double talk and only talk to them towards the end of the year about a new one year contract for the following year knowing that it would be harder for them to find a new school if they don’t like the terms

It’s disgraceful. Do you want to know how much the average women teacher makes for english subjects? 10k. It’s true. Assistants make around 5k. Most teachers barely make more than that and many of them make less to begin with. If they are lucky they get a 500 – 1000 dollar raise a year. A YEAR. Next time, go ahead and think about where your tuition money is going and why is it that the teachers get paid so little to have to deal and try to get some knowledge into your kids head.
