My answers to my questions

Okay, here we go…

Why are people condemned because of their parents?

Because people judge others on their families. While families can indicate sometimes how a person is going to be and act, it doesn’t mean they will be like them…esp. when it comes to being religious. BTs or Gerim anyone? Oh I’m sorry Flatbush has an allergic reaction to those….

Why are people condemned for having a tv/computer?

You get condemned because no one knows how to put on a bloody filter, logger, and make sure the PC or TV is in a centrally located area of the home which can be secured in case you go away and leave your HS child home alone/alone with neighbors (which you should NEVER EVER DO)

Why are kids thrown out of school for having a tv/computer at home?

Schools are idiotic if they believe that people don’t have them at home. Open your eyes, understand we are in the 20th century and USE THE TOOLS FOR THE POWER OF GOOD. NOT FOR THE EVILS OF THE WATCHTOWERS.

Why are Yeshivas turning a blind eye to how they educate our children?

$$$, oh and yeah $$$. They care more about the rep of the school than they do for the education of each child.

Why do our schools care more about the money than the education?

Because $ = Rep = Power in Community. Who cares if you keep a child in the school who should of been thrown out but his parents are going to help buy that new school building…it just means the rest of his class get a subpar education because he knows and the class knows his parents have bought ya.

Why is it that the rich parents can buy their children out of trouble?

Because its pocket change?

Why are Ravs still not conducting true background checks on all teachers?

Afraid they might have to fire half of their teachers. Plus, if they get documented that they are working for a school maybe they might have to report their paychecks?

Why is it that skirts are so damn short on Yeshivish Women?

It isn’t that they are short, it just happens to be that Yeshivish Women go out and buy skirts in the stores that they like, you know the popular goyish stores, and they want to make sure they can show off their legs that are nicely smoothed and shaped and how can they show off their terrific body if they can’t hike up their skirt to the point that they could show that leg off? It’s just that they take it too further.

But beyond that why wouldn’t a little girl grow up to wear those clothes if their 40 year old mother is wearing it too while walking next to her husband who looks like he just walked out of a lecture hall leading a shiur to yeshiva boys?

Why is it that White Skirts are allowed if they are see through?

They forget to wear slips underneith them…if the Yeshivish Women of Ave J want to show off their underwear (esp when they wear dark ones) it’s their call…however I just heard recently that a lot of young bochurs are complaining of whiplash in the neck.

Why is it that a skirt when you walk is fine below the knee but everyone forgets what happens when they sit on the bus and a guy is sitting right across from them with a perfect view?

Because they don’t realize it, and it isn’t their fault that they don’t realize it…they don’t mean to…however they should realize they should be wearing better skirts for tznius reasons.

Why is it that BY HS Girls rub up against guys on the bus? (true story and no, not telling which friend told me that one)

And why am I asking a why on this? Of course at least we know she isn’t lezz…B”H for that. I mean with all the overnights, end of the year campouts these girl schools do…this is when you learn that your daughter enjoys saving water by showering with a friend.

Why is it that all of these ‘learning seminars, groups, speakers, etc’ speak to the audiance like we are dumb?

Because Torah has been locked up and turned into ‘opinion speak’ and the only way to get ‘opinion speak’ to the masses is to speak to them dumbly because if you talked to them as if they were smart then they might wise up that the halacha they are being told is really opinion not halacha

Why is it that the Ravs cannot understand they are supposed to just psak, not give their opinion into the psak?

Because it started after WW2 and they wanted to protect us from America, the problem is who is now going to protect us from their opinion driven halacha instead of halacha driven halacha?

Why do we continue to put down BTs or Gerim?

Because chas v’shalom that their children should marry someone without yichus…who cares if Rabbi Akiva wouldn’t find a shidduch among the affluent Yeshivish in NY just because his parents were gerim

Why do we tell our children how they should shidduch date and who they should shidduch date?

Because no one remembers the fact that the opinion of scholors hundreds to thousands of years ago was that a person should select their shidduch…even the Gemara says a girl needs to say yes and pick when she is above 12 and a guy for when he is above 13…I must of missed the Rashi that said that the parents get to give them a list and they get to select from someone on their list.

Wake up parents, this is your child’s life. Let them look, explore, and get to know the other person BY THEMSELVES! And if you don’t like their choice too bad…aint your choice. You had yours. If you don’t like yours thats your choice. You made your bed now go sleep in it.

Why do Shabbas Table Clothes and Clean Up have to be brought into a Shadchan List of Questions?

If you don’t think this is wrong then please see a mental health professional

Why does the girl need to give her entire measurements in order to be read to someone?

Because have to know she is sexier, hotter, and a better 3 second ride than the next one. Who cares if she is smart, caring, and an actual conversationalist all you are marrying her for is the bragging rights, the children, and the lights closed sex.

Why is it that perfectly smart wonderful girls cannot find a shidduch just because they are smart and want a true college education and job?

Men get afraid that there are women out there who are actually as smart or smarter than they are and will wise up and tell them that they actually need to help around the house and work their butts off to provide for their families.

Why is it that Kollel People don’t realize that they need to find a way to bring home the money?

Because Emma and Abba will always be there to pay!

Why is it that Kollel Men waste time outside smoking or drinking coffee for half an hour or longer each day when they are supposed to be inside learning?

What? You aren’t supposed to? Didn’t Rav Yehudah HaNasi do that with his talmidim way back when?

Why is it that the Ravs can’t have the guts to finally make smoking against halacha due to its harmful sideeffects? (True story of a famous Rav in Israel stating he wouldn’t rule on it because he believed it was like snuff and therefore not healthy to do but if he ruled then too many adicts would be going against halacha)

What? Base halacha on halacha and not on opinions? The shock! You’d mock the entire post WW2 basis of halacha for all

Why do we need to outdo one another in the making of simchas?

Because I gotta a bigger…

Why can’t NY People say Good Shabbas to one another on the street?

Someone might report me that I talked to someone outside my social circle and my daughter might never find a husband…..

Why is it that there are over 4 Eruvs in Flatbush and none are kosher? (been told one at least is according to Rav Moshe but no Yeshivish Rav is willing to say anything about it)

Women go to shul? NEVER! Only the single pretty ones who we can hit on can go! We don’t want to see our married wives and kids there!

Why can’t an Eruv be made that everyone could agree with so we can allow our women to not be homebound?

  1. All the stuff you write about how frum women dress makes it clear you are male. Do you really believe we dress a certain to show off our bodies? And of course its just for you, isnt it? Because we dont have a life if we dont get admiring glances, right?

    You disgust me.

Fashion is a yetzer hora. It’s not all about you.

  2. 1) Yes, I let my husband answer those questions more than I did because I appreciate his sarcastic overtures in his writing sometimes

    2) Following Fashion and looking well kept does equal wishing to be viewed in a certain way so therefore, yes, in the end if you are dressing nicely you are dressing to be looked upon as well kept

    3) Knowing you put on something which is borderline untznius/untznius in itself does equal wanting to expose yourself to the men around you. Go read up on what it means to be tzniut. (AND THIS APPLIES EQUALLY TO MEN TOO!)

    4) We focus on the women more than the men when it comes to being untzniut because men are generally not walking around with cut off tshirts and shorts that are barely below their genitals in order for us to comment.

  3. Dude, you continue to contradict yourself. First you rant about how the television thing is overdone and then you go off about the short skirts.

No one is forcing you to look, get over it. Maybe you feel guilty-ah well, I hear Saudi Arabia is accepting visas now.

Because that’s how you come across. This is a free country and no one has the right to regulate the dress.

    Don’t like it? Tough.

Fashion is a yetzer hora?!?! Lady are you living in the middle ages or what? Or maybe in the twilight zone? (I thought that after looking at your blog).lol.

Wearing colored underwear under a white skirt is not only untzinius it’s also tacky. I saw some young girls in Brooklyn wearing colorful g-strings under their white skirts. It just looked very slutty and cheap and not anything close to sexy.I am just wondering, which mother would let their 14-15 year old walk around like that? I wouldn’t let my child walk around like that. My parents are secular people and they did NOT let me walk around like that.My chin dropped when I saw that.

  5. Jacob, you continue to astound me by your inability to read and understand the following

    1) This is our opinions

    2) We aren’t contradicting ourselves. These are our opinions.

    3) If we wish to rant we shall, and if we wish to call out the idiots who believe they are yeshivish with their kollel husbands and their children in the best schools who wear skirts that should make them blush we will.

    4) TV doesn’t equal badness, anyone who believes that shouldn’t even be on the internet.

  8. Hmmm… I guess “contradicting opinions” doesn’t work either..
    Oh well.

  9. To you they contradict, to us they don’t. Sorry you feel like that but yet again, this is how we feel. Next time Jacob, please don’t put your own feelings and outlooks onto others.

  11. I was in a pizza store in Monsey last week a very good looking presumably chassidish women- her kids all had the shaved head peyos look- was bending over the counter and counting her change. Her pink G-string was showing out of the back of skirt. THIS WAS HOT AS HELL, I think all the frummy women should rock the thongs out of the skirt look. Not sexy my ass, if their looks have to suffer in those turbans and htas over wigs- might as well rock the g-string.

  12. Wait, there cute girls wearing see through white skirts and block g string. Can some one tell me next time when this happens. Im always on Ave J and all i see are the yashiva guys, overly dressed mommies, and hs girls in there unsexy uniforms.

  13. This is the funniest blog ever. I am Bt and live in Flatbush (but spend absolutely no time here if I can help it) Everything in the frum community has so much to do with money and power. There is a time period where every BT looks at FFB folks with envy, then sees their hypocrisy and moves to Possaic where all the cool BT people live.

My non religous sister asked me the other day, upon visiting, why all the frum girls were allowed to dress like sluts? She had been here once before, and commented on their stilleto hooker boots.

I am not yeshivish by choice, even after much kiruv investment, and now find it funny when girls in thousand dollar wigs trailing down on their pushup bras, with their fitted white shirts and just barely knee skirts (not to mention open toed sideless pointy shoes), tell me that I am not tzius b/c I don’t wear stockings in the summer. Hee Hee
