What would you do if this was your child?

with 3 comments

You go to PTA, find out that the teacher has been telling the truth. You haven’t been supervising your child’s HW all year, you don’t know when he or she does their work, every time the teacher calls to complain you blow them off and take your child’s side….and now instead of being an A student you have a B or C student. What would you do, still take your child’s side or finally confess and apologise to the teacher for the arrogance you had and the failure you did as a parent for the school year?

  1. Any self-respecting hocker will instantly assail the teacher.

  2. Good question… frankly, it makes no difference what you say to the teacher (aside from the mentshlich issue). What matters is, what is best for your child.
The hard part is finding out why things went wrong, and what you can do to fix it and help your child do his/her best.

    good luck.

  3. I have to agree completely with Duvy. An apology in this situation wouldn’t help the situation. I think that trying to get to the root of the problem (unless the child is just lazy, although that could be a problem in itself) would help to remedy it.
