Casino in upstate NY.

Yeshiva World News link concerning NY Gov Approval of Casino

I was delighted when I heard of this. Why? Because if you go and investigate the amount of energy, money, and influence Jews tried to wheel to stop this from ever happening you’ll know why. If the goyim of that area want it, and they voted for it, and the State Legislature voted in approval for it, then we shouldn’t stand in its way.

The only thing our voices as Jews added to the entire situation was the fact that many yidden go to that area for the summer, causing major distruption to the lives the people who live all year round, and we have the gall to think we can tell these people what to do because we go there 2 months out of the year? They live there, they vote, and for many Jews we are lucky that they have no closed down some of the summer sites and thankful that all they did was begin restricting the development of new areas.

When will we, of Bnei Yisroel, learn that we do not control the world and we are not here to force our ways upon others. We are in golus, this is the unfortunate reality we live in, and we need to remember that this country is a democracy. It is not a country where we can use our scare tactics, money, influence, and politics in order to twist and strong arm towns, cities, regions, states, and even the Federal Government into doing what we want because we feel we know better.

  1. I agree w/you that jews don’t own the world and it’s about time they learn that, but what does how much money they spent have to do with that? Why do are you happy the more they spent?
On another note, Now is a great time to buy up real estate upstate. The prices will skyrocket! (So once again, the jews come out ahead! Sorry dude.)

  2. sorry to disappoint you all.
Governor Spitzer does not have the final say the Sec’y of the Interior must give final approval. He is generally not in favor of more casinos in the United States. Especially when the casino would be very far away from the ancestral reservation. Here the Indians that want to open the casino are located near the border with Canada. It will take a lot of convincing by the Indians to get the Sec’y to agree. It is therefore unlikely that the casino will be built anytime soon.

  3. That might be true, however, it is just one last step and it will more than like be approved. The State owns the land, making it Federal is not a huge deal in order to turn it over to the Native Americans. The area needs the influx of money and jobs.

  4. I actually heard on the radio that it is actually very unlikely that it will happen and the feds are not likely to give approval and that this is just a token step.
But either way i guess we will see wat will happen. I personally have no interest either way aside from extra traffic on 17
