Seriously though, I was out walking our child to do some shopping and I almost got hit twice. Yes, twice. How so do you ask? Not because I didn’t have walk or look both ways, or made sure that the coast was clear. I did all of that. The problem is that these two cars were trying to make a quick turn while the two women were on their cell phones chatting away. RESPECT THE LAW DON’T TALK AND DRIVE.

It’s sad that there are Get Issues today in the Frum Community. Women and Men are both abused by their spouses as they try to get a divorce both halachicly and legally. I do include men in this because I know a few first hand stories of Men being subjected to severe emotional distress and financial hardship to get their wife to accept the Get. People always seem to focus only on the women suffering…people, everyone, remember that spousal abuse happens across gender lines.
Unfortunately, as with the same issues as the Shidduch Crisis, Community in-fighting, Flatbush Eruv Issues, inability to have young people educated properly about marriage/sex, the Get Issue is swept under the rug by a lot of people. Thank G-D that there are a few outspoken points of light from Ravs, YU, and the Jewish Press that regularly talk about these problems.
If you know someone who is harming their spouse through such a manner, do the Torah a favor and get them to stop. If you can help an agunah or a man who is suffering a similar fate then go and help them today.
